Diet Coke (known as Coke light in some countries) is a sparkling low calorie soft drink with vegetable extracts with sweeteners.
Diet Coke is a very popular brand in Ireland, and even more so in Northern Ireland, which has the highest per capita consumption in the world. On the island of Ireland, Diet Coke is the second biggest sparkling drink after brand Coke.
Diet Coke is also available in a caffeine free variant which was launched in 1988 in response to the growing demand for the great taste of Diet Coke without the caffeine.
In May 2005, a new variant of diet Coke, Diet Coke with Lime offered consumers choice within the low calories soft drinks range. In 2008, Diet Coke Plus was launched in a convenient 350ml PET bottle.
